Letting agents in Scotland have started to sign up to the new Let Well programme which has been developed by Landlord Accreditation Scotland (LAS) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). This new scheme aims to stamp out criminal operators and has been set up to coincide with the roll out of new Scottish regulations which will soon make it a criminal offence to carry out letting agency work without appropriate registration. The regulations include mandatory registration and training of all letting agents. Both these elements will become mandatory from 2018.
