The drop in rental voids is another clear indication in the increased demand for rental property

Landlords who took part in Paragon Mortgages’ quarterly Private Rental Sector Trends survey reported a decrease in void periods between the first quarter of 2009 and the final three months of 2011.

The average time a property remained empty was 2.8 weeks at the end of 2011, compared with an average of 3.2 weeks in 2010 and 3.3 weeks in 2009.

Professional landlords experienced slightly higher void periods, on average 2.9 weeks in 2011, but they also achieved a decrease from 2009 when the average was 3.4 weeks.
