House prices in capital tumble as rest of UK sees rises
Land Registry figures for March show that house prices in London tumbled by 0.7% during the month, representing the steepest fall since 2009.
Whilst the capital is experiencing price falls, the rest of the UK is seeing continued rises, with an overall rate of house price inflation at 4.2%, with the highest rise in Scotland at 6.7%.
The ONS, which compiles the house price index based on Land Registry data, said prices in London have been falling since the EU referendum in June 2016.
