Insurer advises landlords to check boilers

With winter starting to set in, landlords are being advised to ensure that boilers are in good condition ahead of the cold weather. Analysis from Direct Line for Business revealed that the number of claims associated with broken down boilers increased by over a third last winter compared to 2013. The primary, contributing factors to boiler breakdowns include the heat exchanger cracking or rupturing, valves failing, seals leaking, circuit faults and frozen pipes.
