More than a quarter of English landlords unaware of proposed lettings fee ban

Announced in last year’s Autumn Statement, the proposed lettings fee ban in England is yet to come to the attention of 31% of landlords. The research by property management company No Agent also found that a further 14% of landlords surveyed were only somewhat aware.

The firms says that it is worrying that more than half the landlords surveyed believed that the resulting impact on income models will result in letting agents passing fees on to landlords, who in turn will be forced to raise rents to avoid losses.
