More UK landlords planning to sell properties than buy

A survey of almost 3,000 landlords conducted by the Residential Landlords Association (RLA) shows that one in five of UK landlords plan to sell at least one property from their portfolio during the next 12 months.

While 18% are planning to buy more properties, 22% of landlords want to sell, despite seeing an increase in demand for rental properties.

The survey also found that 47% of landlords planned to increase rents over the next year, with the most common reason for doing so being the phasing out of mortgage interest relief which began in April of this year.
