Only one third of tenants think that they will ever be able to buy a home

New research from online letting agents Property Let By Us shows that only slightly more than one third of tenants in private rental accommodation in the UK believe they will ever be able to buy a home of their own. The number of people in private rented accommodation has risen to nearly 3.9 million from 2.2 million in 2002/2003. This increase in demand for rental accommodation is good news for landlords but it will inevitably bring greater Government scrutiny.
