Research from letting agents Your Move and Reeds Rains’ Tenant Arrears Tracker shows that rental arrears fell by 4% in the first three months of 2016 as an improved employment market boosted tenant finances. The figures show that 86,200 tenants across the UK were more than two months behind in their rent in the first quarter of the year, down from 89,300 in the last three months of 2015.

Eviction orders also fell 3% in the first quarter.
