Rents set to rise as lettings stock failing to keep pace with demand

A market snapshot from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) reveals a significant imbalance between demand and supply in the private rental sector. With tenant demand edging up in the three months to January, but landlord instructions falling back, rent rises appear to be an inevitable consequence.

London and the South East are the exceptions to the trend where RICS expect rents to stay roughly static.
