UK parliament set to debate rental payments being added to tenant credit histories

It has been announced that a debate on adding rental payments to tenant credit histories has been scheduled for the 23rd October in the House of Commons.

A debate had originally been scheduled for March in response to a petition by Plymouth construction worker, Jamie Pogson, but was kicked into the long grass when a snap General Election was called for 5th May.

The Residential Landlords Association (RLA) recently weighed into the debate after canvassing three thousand of its members, 61% of whom said they supported rental payments being added to tenants’ credit histories in the same way mortgage payments are.
