UK rent increases remain subdued

Recently published figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that rents paid by tenants in the UK private rented sector increased by 1.1% in the year to February 2018. The figure remains unchanged from January.

In England rents were up by 1.1%, in Scotland by 0.4% and in Wales by 1.4%. In the capital increases were minimal at just 0.1%.

The tiny growth in London was the lowest annual rise since September 2010.
