Why rents in Scotland are bucking the UK trend

The average tenancy north of the border is just one of two parts of the UK where renting a property is becoming more expensive.

The average tenancy cost £646 a month in Scotland between April and June this year, according to new figures from the Deposit Protection Service.

That is up by two per cent from £634 in the first quarter of 2018 making Scotland one of only two UK areas (with Northern Ireland) where renting property is becoming more expensive.
