When defining properties, only a small amount of mandatory data is required. RentPro, however, allows you to provide additional information such as photos and feature lists. Such additional information has a number of benefits:
- Print property brochures which can be distributed to prospective tenants.
- Vacant properties can be listed on your agency web site.
- Automatically upload vacant properties to portal sites.
Each property has an associated Opening Balance Date. This is the date from which you intend to start managing the property using RentPro. The Opening Rent Balance reflects the tenant / rent balance on the Opening Balance Date (a negative value is used if the tenant has rental arrears.) The Opening Landlord Balance reflects the net amount due to the owning landlord on the Opening Balance Date.
Management fees are specified on a per property basis and may either consist of a percentage of rents collected / due or a fixed monetary fee, depending on how your RentPro instance was configured.
You can apply a Finder’s Fee if your agency has sourced the property for the owning landlord. The Finder’s Fee should not be confused with a tenant finding fee.
Chose to ignore alerts against a property by simply unchecking the alert indicator flag.
