Growing number of tenants have no plans to buy
A survey conducted by the Deposit Protection Service (The DPS) found that 38.4% of tenants questioned said that they are not currently planning to buy and will probably rent for the long term. With letting agents experience growing demand there is concern that not enough properties exist in the private rented sector.
Julian Foster, Managing Director of The DPS, said, “Renting is a vital part of the housing sector, and a significant proportion of the UK population choose to be tenants as it better suits their life plan or lifestyles.”
