HMRC urges UK landlords to make tax disclosures
£50 million in unpaid tax has been recovered by the HMRC since it launched its let property campaign in 2013 to encourage those owing tax to get their affairs in order. The HMRC believes that those owing tax tend to be small scale, amateur landlords or accidental landlords letting out a property that they have been unwilling or unable to sell.
Others are being urged to come forward with the HMRC saying that the campaign is the nest opportunity for landlords who owe tax to take the advantage of the best possible terms.
