Labour rent policy will leave tenants more out of pocket, says NLA
The National Landlords Association fears that a proposed system of annual indexation of private rents by Labour will encourage and legitimise escalation of private rental values. In the last year most landlords have not increased rental values despite rises in local market rates, and many have no intention of doing so in the near future. However, this proposal would only serve to encourage a culture of regular rental increases which will hurt tenants more.
