Landlords receive no information from the Government on Right to Rent

According to a survey of over 1,500 landlords, carried out by the Residential Landlords Association, more than 90% of landlords say they have received no information from government on their new legal duty to check the immigration status of their tenants – a task which came into law yesterday the 1st February.  With the survey also revealing that 44% of landlord will now only let to to those with documents that are familiar to them, this could lead to a large number of potential tenants not being able to access private renting.
