More optimism among homeowners than renters

The latest Lloyds Bank Spending Power Report has revealed that homeowners are more confident about the state of the their own finances and the UK economy than renters. Last month (August), 70% of homeowners felt confident in their personal financial situation compared to 53% of renters. When queried about the housing market 51% of homeowners expressed optimism compared to 33% of renters. Although confidence in the state of the UK housing market and the country’s financial situation is on the increase, sentiment towards employment, job security and people’s personal financial situation is on the wane.
