Tenants express interest in energy improvements ahead of April law change

A new survey by online lettings agency PropertyLetByUs, shows that 80% of tenants cite double glazing as the top priority for their next rental home in 2016. The survey was conducted less than three months before a change in the law that will allow tenants living in properties with an energy performance rating of F or G to request improvements. Upon receiving such a request the landlord will then be legally required to bring the property up to an E rating. From 1st April 2018 it will not be legal to let out properties with an F or G energy rating.
